Signed Ernest Goode's Stores- Big chunky solid sterling silver English Victorian pocket watch chain with shield fob. Measures 15" long x 5/16" at the widest point. Curb link chain is tapered in width. Shield fob measures 1-5/8" x 1-1/4" and has a raised monogrammed cartouche in the center, overlapping initials "CD" engraved. Weighs an extra heavy 44 grams. Very well hallmarked with Lion Passant (sterling silver content), Anchor (Birmingham Assay Office) and date letter lower case "e" (1904). In excellent condition, has not been cleaned and retains light age tarnished patina. Also- ladies, this one is long enough to wear as a choker necklace or doubled on the wrist as a bracelet. The swivel itself bears the makers mark of "E.G." which is that of Ernest Goode's Stores and watch makers alliance, jeweller of Oxford Street, London. The lower case "c" date letter is for Birmingham, (1902). From this information, it appears that the chain itself was purchased 1902, and the fob was purchased two years later in 1904. $7.95 US ship/insure.
